Can I Game share with xbox hard drive?

Well I was reading this article wich said stuff like 10 things you can do with your xbox that Microsoft doesn't want yu to kno etc. But the only thing that caught my attention was that it said yu could download game add-ons or games or even movies from a friends xbox to your hard drive. But this article is like 2 yrs old so I was wondering if you could still do it. Thnx btw I just got my hard drive and my xbox is the new one (slim) my hard drive is 250gb so yeah.
